2. About RFID

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) refers to a technology that utilizes Radio Frequency signal to identify an object. You may use RFID today and not even know it, in your car for security, for toll booth payment, or in the form of a security access card.

This site is focused on the fastest growing segment of RFID technology, for use in logistics and item identification. The RFID tags we produce are for identifying shipping cases and pallets per the specification out lined by the EPC and the DoD. The requirements set forth by major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, Albertson’s, and Best Buy are planning to take advantage of the EPC standards for identification utilizing standardized RFID technology.

The current initiatives call for RFID tags to be placed on cases and pallets, not the individual items, however it is the intent to identify items ultimately. As the initiatives change and expand, so will this site.
